History

Greek folk dance group Pigasos (Pegasus in English) was founded in 1963 by young Greek migrants from Utrecht in the Netherlands.

In the beginning, the dance group consisted of a group of friends without a name, who met with a lot of homesickness to dance with each other.
On October 25, 1963 (Remembrance of the 'no' / 'oxi' to the Italian ultimatum on October 28, 1940 and the beginning of WW2) they met officially for the first time with borrowed costumes to perform Greek folk dances for the public.

In 2023, Pegasus will celebrate its 60th anniversary. Preparations for this have already started. If you would like to help make this a success, help is most welcome.
